My next wips

I started working on two things about a week ago now. First up is a crochet earflap hat for Rodney. IMG_0045 All I have done is the very top. I haven’t even made it to the earflap portion yet.

Next is a practice sock. I was following a tutorial and some how I ended up knitting a portion of it inside out then ended up back to knitting it right side out. IMG_0044 You can even see the ridge of purl stitches where I goofed. This one is taking a long time because I keep picking it up and putting it down.

I got no progress on either project today because of my hunter safety course taking up all my time.

Making progress

I’ve gone from a circular needle to double pointed needles. It means I am getting close to being finished with my first knitted hat. I would not have gone to double points yet if not for my circular breaking. Here’s some pics:

Now on to the double points.

My knitting project

This may be interesting. I'm starting a new knitting project. A basic ear flap hat I hope it turns out well since this will be my first attempt to knit in the round.

New yarn purchased

I went to a local yarn store and I was in heaven. Liberty Ridge Farm had their own special handspun yarn that I had to add to my stash. I thought it would make a great ear flap hat or something of my favorite color.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog where I plan to talk about what I am working on in crochet, knitting or both. I may even discuss a pattern book here and there.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a guy in his mid-thirties. I may have too many hobbies, in addition to crochet and knitting, I am also into ham radio, computers, fishing, fly tying, archery, and of course the internet. I spend most of my time at home with my dog and cat. I have a more adult leaning blog at http://emeraldjay.livejournal.com. I apologize for the ads but a guy has to make money for his yarn stash somehow.
